& Cultural Heritage

Cultural heritage enables us to define ourselves and the societies in which we live. Welcome to the UNESCO Chair in International Law and Cultural Heritage, hosted by the University of Technology Sydney. We are an international collaboration of leading researchers and educators focused on understanding and promoting cultural heritage through law, advocacy and education.

The UNESCO Chair in International Law and Cultural Heritage is the co-host and co-coordinator of the UNESCO-UNITWIN Network on Culture in Emergencies.

UTS acknowledges the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, the Boorooberongal people of the Dharug Nation, the Bidiagal people and the Gamaygal people upon whose ancestral lands our university stands. We would also like to pay respect to the Elders both past and present, acknowledging them as the traditional custodians of knowledge for these lands.

The UNESCO Chair and UTS supports the Uluru Statement from the Heart and its implementation in full.
