Inspired by UNESCO’s World Poetry Day adopted in 1999, Erina Public Library which is part of the Central Coast Libraries in NSW Australia, celebrated a poetry month in March 2025 to remind all that ‘poetry speaks to our common humanity’. The event was designed to honour poets and raise visibility of poetry in the local community by promoting the poetry collection in the library.
UTS acknowledges the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, the Boorooberongal people of the Dharug Nation, the Bidiagal people and the Gamaygal people upon whose ancestral lands our university stands. We would also like to pay respect to the Elders both past and present, acknowledging them as the traditional custodians of knowledge for these lands.
The UNESCO Chair and UTS supports the Uluru Statement from the Heart and its implementation in full.
