The Oxford Commentary on the 1970 UNESCO and 1995 UNIDROIT Conventions on Stolen or Illegally Transferred Cultural Property (Oxford University Press, 2024) was officially presented to the Governing Council of UNIDROIT on Wednesday, 21 May 2025.

The panel discussion included UNIDROIT Secretary-General, Professor Ignacio Tirado, President of the Governing Council and Commentary contributor, Dr Jorge Sanchez Cordero, UNIDROIT Chief Legal Officer, Dr Marina Schneider and UNESCO Chair and co-editor of the Commentary, Professor Ana Filipa Vrdoljak.

The UNESCO Chair is extremely grateful to Dr Sanchez Cordero, Professor Tirado and Dr Schneider to ensuring the success of this event and facilitating the realisation of this publication.

UTS acknowledges the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, the Boorooberongal people of the Dharug Nation, the Bidiagal people and the Gamaygal people upon whose ancestral lands our university stands. We would also like to pay respect to the Elders both past and present, acknowledging them as the traditional custodians of knowledge for these lands.
