Professor Donder was elected to the United Nations’ Human Rights Committee on 17 June 2022 with the highest vote tally. Recognition of her significant expertise and long-standing commitment to human rights education, research and practice over many years.

Professor Donders has contributed to several current and ongoing projects of the UNESCO Chair including the Oxford Handbook on International Cultural Heritage Law (2020) and the Women and Girls and Cultural Heritage project.

We congratulate Professor Donders on her appointment and thank her for her ongoing commitment to human rights throughout the world, particularly cultural rights.

UTS acknowledges the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, the Boorooberongal people of the Dharug Nation, the Bidiagal people and the Gamaygal people upon whose ancestral lands our university stands. We would also like to pay respect to the Elders both past and present, acknowledging them as the traditional custodians of knowledge for these lands.
