Professor Vrdoljak was pleased to participate in and contribute to the third international conference hosted by the 4Universities Consortium on Cultural Heritage Law hosted by partner Professor Sophie Vigneron and Kent Law School in Canterbury, United Kingdom, from 5-6 June 2024. The conference theme focused on addressing the trafficking of cultural property through the public/private law nexus. It was generously funded by the British Academy. Professor Vrdoljak’s presentation focused on the private and public law nexus in addressing illicit traffic during armed conflicts and other emergencies through the 1970 UNESCO and 1995 UNIDROIT Convention and the 1954 Hague Convention and its first protocol.
UTS acknowledges the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, the Boorooberongal people of the Dharug Nation, the Bidiagal people and the Gamaygal people upon whose ancestral lands our university stands. We would also like to pay respect to the Elders both past and present, acknowledging them as the traditional custodians of knowledge for these lands.
