The UNESCO Chair Ana Filipa Vrdoljak was pleased to present the keynote entitled ‘Transformative Justice: Addressing Colonialism, ‘Vulnerability’ and Harm’ for the 10th International Garifuna Conference ‘From Reaction to Action: Challenges and opportunities for Promoting Reparatory Justice for Indigenous Peoples in the Caribbean from 9-11 March 2023, organised and hosted by the Garifuna Heritage Foundation (TGHF).

The UNESCO Chair is pleased to contribute to the ongoing reparations efforts of the Garifuna for harms arising from colonialism led by the TGHF.

UTS acknowledges the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, the Boorooberongal people of the Dharug Nation, the Bidiagal people and the Gamaygal people upon whose ancestral lands our university stands. We would also like to pay respect to the Elders both past and present, acknowledging them as the traditional custodians of knowledge for these lands.
